Today in Mrs. Bell’s class we made acorns for our bulliten board, practiced writing our names, and talked about our 5 senses. We also celebrated a special birthday girl today.

Mrs. Chambers’ class learned about construction workers. During free choice time they made houses (and castles) with magnatiles. We read a book with ideas of different ways to make things stable as we build. We had stations at lesson time to use popsicle sticks to glue and build a house, to pound golf tees into pool noodles, and building bridges with painter’s tape, big craft sticks and counting bears. We also had a yummy pudding snack brought in from one of our friends.

Mrs. Chambers’ class and Mrs. Bell and Miss Herold’s T/Th classes had our field trip to French Creek Nature Center where our students learned about their 5 Senses in nature! Students got to feel the fur of a red fox and antlers, and meet Rusty the box turtle.

Today in Mrs. Bell we learned about the letter Ss, completed a book that talks about our feelings, and had lots of fun playing with the parachute in big room.
In Miss Herold’s class we learned about the letter Vv and made a volcano craft. We also did a matching activity with different community helpers.

Mrs. Chambers’ class learned about our firefighter community helpers today. Some friends used a spray bottle to spray shaving cream off some fires that had numbers on them. They then used a bingo dabber to mark off the number on their paper. Some friends were working on 1-10 and others were focused on 11-20. All were doing something that strengthens our hands. We read a book about going to a fire station, practiced stop, drop and roll in big room and completed a fire safety book. If your family doesn’t have a meeting place to go to in case of a fire, please talk with your child about it and decide on one together. We also played with the parachute in big room and part of our snack looked like a fire truck! Many thanks to Mrs. Lippert and Josie’s mom and sister for helping with those!

Today students in Mrs. Bell’s class played “I have ___ who has ___”, and practiced using their scissors. They also had a special guest reader.
In Miss Herold’s class we also practiced using our scissors, read The Biggest Pumpkin Ever, and used play doh to make our letters of the week!
