“ I went Greek to find my place within a large campus like UMass. Being in IGU has allowed me to find a place where I can be myself and be with other girls who are both similar to me as well as unique in their own ways. My favorite parts about being in IGU include being a local chapter, which means that every sister (present and past) knows and loves 406 North Pleasant, our home away from home (which means visits from alumni!!). I know this recruitment will be different but remember to be yourself! Talk about things you like, we can’t wait to get to know you! ♡ “

As we return to going back to our usual content feed, we want to acknowledge that we realise the painful history attached to sororities and greek life. We are committed to educating ourselves and developing women of intellect and integrity. While no words will ever be enough, we are committed to using this profile as a platform to relentlessly raise awareness and sharing resources. We stand with our sisters and friends who have been protesting over the past month and anyone who has been a victim to systemic racism and biases and we are committed to bringing about a positive change in our community. This past month has been anything but just a social media trend to us, we’re actively learning and reflecting. The iota in our name stands for individuality and we are committed to doing our part in making the Greek community a more open accepting and diverse home. 🤍✊🏿

we’re saddened and heartbroken by the death of Mr. George Floyd. Though this will never be enough, we as a chapter promise to not remain silent in and stand by everyone who has been a victim to this systematic oppression.
