As many of you will know, Alon Confino, Director of the IHGMS, passed away this last June, a huge loss to his family, friends, and colleagues across a number of fields and geographical locations.

The Institute is now planning a gathering in September to commemorate his extraordinary accomplishments, impact, and legacy. More information will be forthcoming, but we are sending out this notice now so you can save the date and time. For those who cannot attend in person, there will be a livestream and/or Zoom option.

The event will take place in Amherst on Friday, September 20, 10:30 – 12:00 DST (15:30 – 17:00 GB, 14:30 – 16:00 Western Europe, 17:30 – 19:00 Israel/Palestine).
