Amherst Schools Educational Foundation These take the forms of educational programs within the district and scholarships for those wishing to continue their education past high school.

The Amherst Schools Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides funding to enhance educational opportunities within the Amherst School District. This year we are providing nearly $50K in scholarships and another $50K for district educational programs. As an endowment organization, our funding comes solely from the earnings and interest earned by funds donated by individuals a

nd families. The Foundation got its start with a $500 donation from Dr. Roy Schaeffer in 1986 and has grown to nearly $2 million. The foundation has nearly 30 endowment funds that have been established since 1986, by very generous individuals from our own community.
