Having a STEM degree isn't a problem.

The problem is when we look down on English majors, ethnic studies, anthropology, history, and sociology because we fail to see the inherent value of their knowledge and work.

When we judge those careers and areas of study based purely on their commercial profitability in comparison to STEM, and not their value to society in general, we fail to see why they're important to begin with.

They don't exist because people want to pursue "easy" degrees.

They exist because the knowledge you gain can help us build better futures, understand important lessons from our past, and find solutions we can implement to make society a more functional, inclusive, and meaningful place for us all.
