The Rise & Shine Attendance Challenge: Help Your Student’s Grade Level Win "The Attendance Board"!

This September, our school is participating in a high-energy, 3-week division attendance competition! From Monday, August 31 to Friday, September 18, all grade levels across the division will compete to see who can maintain the highest daily attendance rate. At the end of the challenge, the winning grade level will earn the ultimate reward: a chance to play "The Attendance Board." Students from the winning grade will get to drop a puck down a giant custom peg board to win exciting prizes and school privileges!

Every Day Counts, Every Drop Wins! We want our students to take home the crown! You can support our school community by ensuring your student arrives on time and ready to learn every single day. Students hit the ground running during the first week of school at ACHS. In Intro to Health, Mrs. Wells gave students a hands-on demonstration of just how quickly germs can spread and why proper hand hygiene matters.

Students started with their heads down and had no idea whether they received regular hand lotion or “Glo Germ.” After mingling, high-fiving, and moving around the room while touching different surfaces, they turned off the lights and used a special light to reveal where the “germs” had spread.

With only one student starting with Glo Germ, it was shocking to see just how quickly it made its way to hands, surfaces, and even door k***s!

A great reminder that sometimes the best way to learn is to see it for yourself.

It’s the first Spirit Week of the 2026–2027 school year, and we’re kicking things off with a full week of Lancer fun!

Tuesday: Toes Out Tuesday
Wednesday: Marvel vs. DC
Thursday: Soccer Mom vs. BBQ Dad
Friday: Hawaiian Day — Rock, Paper, Hula!

We’ll wrap up the week with a Friday afternoon pep rally before our first home football game of the season. Start planning those outfits, Lancers!

The Lancers battled the weather and Jefferson Forest, Liberty Bedford, and Brookville in an 18-hole Quad Match at Winton Farm on Monday. Caitlyn Baxter led the Lancers as the Match Medalist with a 3-under Par 68 and the Lancers finished in 4th place with a 351 total.

INFORMATION REGARDING AIR CONDITIONING AT ACHS:

ACHS has been experiencing issues with our main chiller for air conditioning, mostly when we have thunderstorms. Yesterday morning, the chiller was reset due to the storms on Sunday. As the morning went on, the temperatures in the building began to fall; however, around lunchtime, they began to rise again, signaling another issue with the chiller. The chiller was once again reset, and throughout the night, temperatures across the building began to fall. While temperatures in most of the building this morning are good, there are a few areas upstairs that are a bit warmer, but mostly in larger areas such as the hallways and library. Most classrooms are cooling properly, and we will work with any teachers who feel that they need to move their classes if it gets warmer throughout the day. We made a service call yesterday once we realized that it needed to be reset again, and those individuals have been at ACHS this morning and are currently working on the system.
