UMass Hillel UMass Hillel is the center of Jewish life at UMass Amherst. Stop by and say hello!

At UMass Hillel, our mission is to empower students through the vitality of Jewish life to cultivate purposeful, healthy lives and relationships that better our community and world. Our vibrant community provides Jewish students of all backgrounds (and those curious to learn more about Judaism) to make Hillel House their home away from home. We have more than 10 diverse student groups, host free Friday night dinners for hundreds of students, provide weekly and holiday services, provide access to free WIFI and a kosher kitchen and host a variety of social and educational events during the school year!

We are excited to share UMass Hillel’s 2025-2026 Impact Report.

This past year, more than 1,250 students connected with Jewish life at UMass—building friendships and community, celebrating Shabbat and holidays, exploring Jewish wisdom, growing as leaders, and turning to Hillel for care and support. While serving today's students, we continue investing in the foundations that will enable Jewish life at UMass to flourish for generations to come.

Today is the final day for your new student to register for FreshFest, our pre-orientation program for incoming Jewish first-year and transfer students. FreshFest gives students the opportunity to make new friends, explore campus and the Pioneer Valley, and settle in before classes begin.

We're looking for two more members of our team for the 2026/27 school year- a Modern Orthodox Educator in Residence and a full time Student Life Associate. If you're eager to shape Jewish life on campus, excited to work with Jewish students, and passionate about being part of a fulfilling community, come join us!
