Dear Valentine…
As Valentine Dining Hall served its last meals, we asked alumni to write “Love letters to Valentine”, here are just a few of the hundreds of responses! What would your letter say?? 💜

“Betty offered us love and nourishment and encouraged us to venture out to explore a much larger world than the one into which we were born,” the donor said. “There was always room at her table, whether you were an old friend or a stranger.”

Betty's Kitchen, which replaces Valentine Dining Hall, will be Amherst's primary all-campus dining hall, serving students, faculty, staff, and visitors. It will occupy 46,500 square feet at the heart of Ford Student Center, designed by renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with Sasaki.

COCREATED is a community art project that brings the global Amherst community together through creativity, memory, and shared purpose.

You are invited to design a fabric square with a meaningful “CO” word that reflects their Amherst experience. Each individual square of the textile should answer one simple question: What’s your CO?

Blank fabric squares can be mailed to you and will be available during special events on-campus. They may also be picked up at Smith House at Amherst College.

The alumni in Chicago showed up for local bar trivia and dominated the competition. Two of the three Amherst teams won silver and bronze, and the third team came in fourth, just shy of the podium! Way to represent!

Consider us impressed! 🚲 Mike Adams ‘75 (right) biked to Reunion from San Diego. He left in March and took the scenic route to join his class for their 50th.

He arrived yesterday with Andy Balder ‘75 (left) who met him locally for the last leg.

On May 1 and 2, Amherst Fund staff invited students to write postcards of gratitude to alumni who supported the College during this year’s Giving Days. Students shared heartfelt messages, thanking the generous alumni whose support helps make their Amherst experience extraordinary.
