Each year, our high school Government students take time to place flags in the grass outside the school to commemorate the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Thank you to our students and Mr. LaRoach for continuing this touching tribute.

Thanks to all of our Panther families for your patience this morning as we observe these new traffic patterns. Don't forget to review this map and watch out for staff directing traffic and helping all of our students get into the building safely!

Attention Middle School Panther families: Don't forget that starting on the first day of school TOMORROW, a new traffic pattern for drop off/pick up will be in place.

What is changing and why: We are redesigning the traffic pattern to create a dedicated bus drop-off area that is completely separate from the parent drop-off area. Safety is our top priority, and this change will make arrival and dismissal safer and more efficient for our students, our families, and our bus operators.

Where to go: Students arriving or being picked up by car will now enter and exit the building through the back parking lot. Drivers must enter and exit using the far left entryway near the Brickyard Tavern. Upon exiting, drivers will only be permitted to make a right turn onto Maple Road.

Families with students in our exceptional classrooms: You may continue to drive to the same entry and exit door as last year, where staff will meet you and bring your child to their classroom.

Please follow the included map. We appreciate our community's patience and help to make sure everyone is safe in our parking lots!

Each year, Sweet Home celebrates those who go above and beyond to live the district's mission: "Every Student, One Community, Ready for the Future". This year, our Annual Heart Award Recipients, nominated by their colleagues, are Jill Hopcia, Susan Wattle, Jim Ryan, and Billy Phillips.

❤️ Jill Hopcia, Glendale Elementary Teacher - For more than three decades, Jill has put students first, creating meaningful connections and making sure every child feels seen, supported and like they belong. Her nomination says she has a remarkable ability to “see beyond a student’s challenges and see the child.”

❤️ Susan Wattle, Maplemere Elementary Teacher Aide - Susan's willingness to give her time, energy, and heart to others has made an immeasurable difference to our school community. She "makes a school feel like home".

❤️ Jim Ryan, Maplemere Elementary Principal - Jim has spent his career reminding students and colleagues that they matter, that they are capable and that they don't have to face challenges alone. He leads with encouragement, compassion and a genuine belief in others, helping those around him grow and become their best selves.

❤️ Billy Phillips, Transportation Mechanic - For the past 12 years, Billy has brought pride, enthusiasm and a genuine love for Sweet Home to his work. He consistently steps up to help wherever he is needed, making an important impact behind the scenes. He genuinely loves what he does every single day.

Congratulations to Jill, Susan, Jim and Billy! Thank you for the countless ways you make Sweet Home a stronger, more connected community and help us live out our mission each day.

Before we welcome our students back tomorrow, our staff kicked off the 2026-2027 school year together today on the turf!

Superintendent Dr. Michael Ginestre, our administrative team and Board of Education welcomed staff and shared an exciting look ahead at the year to come. We also had the opportunity to welcome our newest Panthers to the Sweet Home family and celebrate several outstanding staff members with our annual Sweet Home Heart Awards (more on that to come).

From our continued focus on preparing every student to be “Ready for the Future”, to the many opportunities ahead across our schools, there is so much to look forward to.

It was a great morning to reconnect, celebrate our Panther community and get ready for another incredible year.
