Rank testing night at Crane Karate Academy.
I'm incredibly proud of these students.

Congratulations to Jacqueline on earning her 4th kyu green belt, and to our newest yellow belts on taking their first steps forward on this journey.

What struck me most, though, was seeing how far people can go when they simply keep showing up. One student who tested this week couldn't do a single push-up when he first walked through our doors. During his test, he completed 10 standard push-ups and another 30 on his knees. The smile on my face probably rivaled his.

Karate isn't really about belts. It's about becoming a little stronger, a little more disciplined, and a little more confident than you were yesterday. It's about supporting one another through the hard days and celebrating the victories—big and small.

Thank you to all of the students and families who make Crane Karate Academy the community it is. Watching you grow is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

Yesterday, I attended the IPPONE LLC 2026 Kickoff Tournament and Banquet. It was great reconnecting after some time off and spending the evening with so many amazing friends 💛

I took second in sparring and third in forms - performing the White Crane kata Okaku for the first time. We're looking forward to attending more IPPONE events this year!
