What’s cooking? 🥩Culinary Arts students in the Ames Hunziker Career Academy recently had a meat lab day. Students learned to cook different cuts of meat using various methods and then present them buffet style. 🍽

Last week, the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Des Moines Area Community College hosted "Teaching for the Workforce," a two-day workshop for teachers within Story and Boone County. The workshop gave educators the chance to hear presentations and tour local businesses to better understand the regional economy and workforce priorities. Educators were able to take away practical tools and strategies for implementing career awareness, exploration and workplace learning activities for their classrooms.

A group of high school students who are currently taking college classes through the DMACC Career Advantage Program at the DMACC Ames Hunziker Center joined DMACC President Rob Denson for lunch on Thur., April 14, as part of the College's ongoing "Lunch With The President" Series. President Denson regularly joins students for lunch at every DMACC location. The informal lunches create an opportunity for Denson and other DMACC staff members to hear directly from students about what they like best about attending DMACC, and about how the College could help improve their experience.
