As a soon to be senior in college, I have been spending a lot of time reflecting on my last 3 years at Iowa State and thinking about all of the amazing people I have met along the way. That’s where Alpha Phi comes into play. Alpha Phi is not only a chapter, but a strong sisterhood where I feel welcomed, supported, and loved. I remember like it’s yesterday, meeting a whole new group of women, who would soon become my best friends. Alpha Phi has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone & to step into roles I never would have thought I would have. Freshman year, I was scared of such a new change, but all the girls welcomed me with open arms and continued to push me to be the best version of myself. I not only have grown within myself, but I’ve grown in relationships that I will cherish forever. Hi! My name is Sophie Schipper and choosing APHI was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Going into formal recruitment I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to join a sorority. Since the day I walked into our house and talked to the girls, I knew APHI would be the place for me! Throughout this first year I have made some of my closest friends who I now can’t imagine living without. They have been the most fun, accepting, loving, and strong women. I can’t wait to live in the house next year and to continue to build loving friendships! I am so thankful!
