🏆 We are pleased to announce ECpE assistant professor Shana Moothedath was recently awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award. Her research develops multi-task learning algorithms that leverage problem structures to enable efficient, privacy-preserving learning in dynamic systems while addressing data heterogeneity, communication efficiency, scalability, and safety constraints. Congratulations, Shana! 👏

🎓 Congratulations to our electrical engineering Spring 2025 graduates!

We are pleased one of our very own, Thomas Bluth, electrical engineering alum, was Saturday's commencement speaker.

Bluth is is a retired global business executive with extensive P&L leadership experience that includes serving as a Caterpillar Senior Vice President and Corporate Officer for 13 years. Tom’s scope of experience includes managing Caterpillar businesses (Earthmoving & Mining) ranging from $5B to $20B in revenue, overseeing manufacturing across Europe and Asia, and serving as Caterpillar’s corporate Chief Technology Officer.

Bluth currently serves as a board member and advisor for various companies, teaches as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University, and stays actively involved with Iowa State, serving on the ISU Research Foundation Board.
