The last day of school is Friday, May 29! 🎉 Students will be dismissed early at the following times:

Elementary – 12:45 pm
Ames Middle School – 1:45 pm
Ames High – 1:35 pm

Our 3rd graders received brand new bike helmets today, generously donated by Healthiest Ames! 🚴‍♂️⛑️

We are so thankful for community partners like Healthiest Ames who help keep our students safe! Thank you for supporting our kids both in and out of the classroom! 💙

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we honor and remember.

Today, the Ames Community School District pays tribute to the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten. May we take this day to reflect, remember, and express our heartfelt gratitude.

Our 5th graders had an amazing day at Hickory Grove Lake! Students spent the day canoeing, building teamwork skills, and learning how to navigate using a compass. It was a fun-filled outdoor adventure full of learning, laughter, and great memories. We are so proud of the teamwork, leadership, and positive attitudes our students showed throughout the trip! 🛶🌲🧭

All Ames Community School District buildings will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.
We honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Schools and the district office will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, and classes will resume for students.

Congratulations to Michael for earning the orchestra karate gold medal!!

Our 2nd graders are celebrating the end of state testing the best way we know how, with creativity, teamwork, and hands-on fun! 🎉📚

This day was filled with exciting STEM projects, painting colorful kindness rocks, and even making erupting volcanoes out of lemons! 🍋🌋🎨 The students worked so hard during testing, and we are so proud of their perseverance and positive attitudes.
What a great way to wrap up a season of hard work and learning! 💙💛
