📚🎉 Field Day Fun on the Last Day of School!📚🎉
What a fantastic way to celebrate an amazing school year! Our students worked hard all year to grow their academic skills, and their efforts paid off in a BIG way. Through their dedication and learning, students earned water balloons for one of their favorite Field Day activities—throwing them at their teachers!💦😂
The laughter, excitement, and friendly competition made for unforgettable memories as students celebrated their accomplishments and the end of another successful school year.
We are so proud of all the growth, perseverance, and hard work our students demonstrated this year. Thank you to our staff, families, and volunteers for helping make this day so special.

Ames Middle School – 1:45 pm

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we honor and remember.

Today, the Ames Community School District pays tribute to the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten. May we take this day to reflect, remember, and express our heartfelt gratitude.

🎶🧦 Our school-wide Sock Hop was a glowing success! Hosted by our amazing 5th graders, the afternoon was filled with music, dancing, glow sticks, temporary tattoos, and nonstop fun. 💃✨

The Juicy Wiggle was definitely the crowd favorite, and the dance train kept growing all afternoon long! 🚂🎵 Thank you to our 5th grade hosts for making it such a memorable evening for everyone! ❤️

All Ames Community School District buildings will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.
We honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Schools and the district office will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, and classes will resume for students.

Parking Lot Reminder
If you need to get out of your vehicle, please park in a designated spot rather than stopping in the traffic lane. This helps keep traffic moving safely. Staff will be outside to help direct cars during busy times.

Transportation Changes
If your child’s end-of-day plans change, please call the office by 2:15pm. Students cannot be called from class after 2:30pm.
