Yesterday, a few of our members with a few extra helpers cleaned our portion of U.S. Highway 69! Thank you and a big shout out to our members that took the time to come help during the craziness of Homecoming Week!!

Tonight at the Alpha Zeta meeting we had the opportunity to put together some Easter baskets for residents at a local nursing home! We hope they enjoy them as much as we enjoyed putting them together!

Ben McClain is a junior majoring in Animal Science. He is representing the professional fraternity, Alpha Zeta.

Why did Ben join Alpha Zeta?
"Alpha Zeta is a student organization that strives to promote the Iowa State student's agricultural interests. As an organization with members from all different majors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Alpha Zeta gives members an opportunity to network with students from all different backgrounds and with all new experiences."

Ben also shares how COVID-19 has impacted his industry and what he's learning at ISU to overcome these challenges.

"COVID-19 has impacted agriculture in many ways. From reducing industry communications and labor to reducing producers ability to make financial strides due to uncertainty. As a student at Iowa State, I have learned to effectively communicate with my peers and instructors in a virtual environment, allowing me to interact well with producers in the industry."

Alpha Zeta will be kicking off the fall tonight with our first meeting in Kildee 108 @ 730! Bring your computer and a canned food item for our food drive. See you all tonight!

Our February meeting was held last week. Acting upon the service aspect of our honor society, we constructed dog toys for the local animal shelter. We can not wait to deliver these and continue benefiting the community of Ames!
