Congrats to our basketball, who traveled to Notre Dame to compete in the Flying Irish Basketball Tournament!

Back and excited to share what we’ve been up to these past couple months!
Here’s a look at our 10-Miler team, who traveled to Washington, D.C. for a 10-mile race and squeezed in plenty of sightseeing, adventuring, and fun along the way!

"The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status."

Congratulations to 2LT Yonker on your commissioning. We are so grateful for everything you brought to the program and truly impressed by all you have accomplished. Here’s to the next chapter!

This morning, cadets from Drake’s Army ROTC stepped up for a great cause, loading their rucksacks with school supplies and rucking to a local elementary school to donate them. We’re proud to have Drake as part of the Cyclone Battalion and grateful for their commitment to giving back to the community. Great job,

We partnered with Iowa State’s program to host a workout session led by female cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC programs!
Participants took on some of our go-to military-style workouts including buddy carries, litter carries, and sled pushes.
We had a blast training with you all. Thanks for joining us!

We recently welcomed our newest class of cadets! With help from our MS3s, they got a hands-on preview of what ROTC has in store. They tackled the Leadership Reaction Course, rappelled the tower, and pushed through the obstacle course at Camp Dodge. We’re excited to see the impact these future leaders will make in our program!

Our cadets had an action-packed and rewarding summer!

Congratulations to all who completed Cadet Summer Training (CST) at Fort Knox. CST is a challenging 37-day program filled with skill-building, leadership development, and rigorous testing. We’re incredibly proud of your hard work and resilience!

Special shoutout to Cadet Von Felt and Cadet Droz for successfully completing Air Assault School, such a tough and prestigious achievement!

We also had several cadets participate in Cadet Troop Leader Training (CTLT), where they had the unique opportunity to shadow active-duty 2nd Lieutenants and gain real-world insight into Army leadership and day-to-day responsibilities.

The ceremony was held immediately after graduation to commission our cadets into the Iowa National Guard and the Active Duty Army as brand-new Second Lieutenants. We are incredibly proud of everything they’ve accomplished during their time in the program and the impact they’ve made along the way.
