Ames High Winter Cheerleaders cheer from November - March for AHS Boys/Girls Basketball & Wrestling
Ames High Winter Cheer is made up of approximately twenty cheerleaders, one head coach (Dana Logan), and two assistant coaches (Emily Carlson & Lydia Spurgeon). Our cheerleaders are divided into one Junior Varsity squad, and two Varsity squads. The cheerleaders cover over 100 events throughout the regular season, cheering at all Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball games, Wrestling meets, and hockey games.

3 juniors from the winter varsity squad represented Ames today at the Special Olympics Iowa Summer Games! They learned a routine with girls from across the state, hosted a cheer clinic with Special Olympic athletes, and then performed at the opening ceremony!

Eight Ames High seniors represented the Little Cyclones at the IBCA All-Star tournament in Dallas Center-Grimes on Saturday, March 29! 🙌💥
Only 55 cheerleaders were selected from across the entire state through a competitive tryout process—and we were lucky to have eight of them wearing Little Cyclone orange and black!
A special shoutout to Emma Brockman, winter squad co-captain and 2x State Champion, who was named All-Stars MVP!

8 Seniors represented Ames High at the IBCA All-Star tournament in Dallas Center Grimes yesterday. Only 55 cheerleaders were chosen from across the entire state through a tryout process; we were so fortunate to have so many Little Cyclones selected!! Also, Emma Brockman (a winter squad co-captain, and 2x State champion) was selected as the All-Stars MVP!!! ⭐️ What an honor!!!

Another record was crushed this week when 9 SENIORS were selected to cheer on the Pizza Ranch IBCA/ICCA All-Star Squad! They will perform at halftime of the IBCA tournament championship games on March 29th in Dallas Center Grimes!
