GRS Students Shine at World Food Prize Events 🌎

This week, Global Resource Systems students, faculty, and staff took part in the World Food Prize events, including the Borlaug Dialogue and the Global Youth Institute. They had the opportunity to meet and hear from 2016 World Food Prize Laureate Dr. Jan Low, and several students presented projects at Iowa State University’s Borlaug Poster Competition—earning 2nd- and 3rd-place awards and highlighting the innovation and dedication that define GRS students.

The World Food Forum is a global youth platform to transform agrifood systems through the power of youth, science, innovation and investment. Hosted by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, Italy October 10 - 17, 2025, youth from around the world are invited to join high-level dialogues, innovation labs, interactive pitching events, hackathons, networking, exhibitions and cultural showcases to spotlight the many ways people everywhere are shaping a better food future. Alaina, junior in Global Resource Systems and Ag & Life Science Education and president of the ISU chapter of the International Association of Students in Agriculture and Related Sciences (IAAS) is representing the US in an IAAS delegation at the Forum.
