This Halloween, take a minute to check yourself and your costume choice before you head out to any social events. The Office of Equal Opportunity points out that “dressing or behaving in ways that represent an entire culture can lead to generalizations and stereotyping which disrespect members of that community.” The Department of Residence asks that you select costumes that do not tokenize cultures or identities. Right now you can log into the Residence Housing Portal and choose your room for next year! Choose from more than a thousand rooms in any of our 18 residence halls or apartments and pull in a roommate of your choice. You have until March 1 to cancel if needed - no need to stress. Want to keep your same room for next year? Login to the Housing Portal now and renew your on-campus contract. Then, select either "Renew My Room" to keep your exact room or "Change My Room" if you'd like to move down the hall, to another building, or to an on-campus apartment. Those moving to a new room can begin selection in the housing portal at 9:00 a.m. October 11.
