Feed energy is the single costliest component in poultry production, yet the industry still heavily relies on live animal bioassays to measure it. The Journal of Applied Poultry Research highlights how accurate, continuous quantification of Metabolizable Energy (ME) serves as a critical pillar for global production efficiency. By analyzing how factors like batch-to-batch ingredient variation and bird maturity impact energy outcomes, this objective research underscores the massive economic consequences of variance in the field. Ultimately, mastering these metrics allows producers to move away from guesswork and implement a true precision approach that enhances both biological and financial efficacy. Embracing these data-driven insights is key to optimizing production sustainability and mitigating hidden industry costs worldwide.
