How do you start the last day of school? Why, with an all-school recess, of course!
Fellows students worked hard all year long earning PBIS tickets for demonstrating positive behaviors. Fellows PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) program promotes positive student behaviors, improves school climate, and supports academic and social success. We focus on proactive strategies and teaching expected behaviors rather than just reacting to misbehavior.
This year... students were "caught". (without prompting) 54,751 times displaying behaviors that were expected, positive, and demonstrated the Fantastic Fellows Way of being Safe, Responsible, and Thoughtful!

Fellows 4th grade created a “Mini Society” as part of a financial literacy unit. Small groups collaborated to design their own communities and even created a unique form of currency. Each student developed a business plan and either sold a product or provided a service within their society.
To bring the experience to life, yesterday was “Open Market” day where other grades were able to visit and "shop" in the different 4th grade communities. Through this hands-on experience, students practiced important real-world skills such as budgeting, entrepreneurship, decision making, collaboration, and problem solving.
Heads up Shark Tank... we're coming! 💲

Adrianne Budweg-Iverson's gentle guidance as an EA has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many students throughout her years at Fellows. 16 years of guiding and teaching students, one at a time, with patience and kindness. Teaching them not only lessons in the classroom, but also how to navigate peer relationships at recess, how to maintain self-control in the lunchroom, how to recognize their own feelings in order to know when to take a break... building self-confidence and a sense of trust.
We wish Adrianne many happy years in her well-earned retirement!
Help us celebrate Adrianne Budweg-Iverson as she retires after 16 years with Ames CSD. 🎉
We are so grateful for your years of service and the lasting difference you’ve made in our schools. Wishing you all the best as you begin this next chapter in retirement! 🧡🖤
