Our MA program in TESL/Applied Linguistics is for those with some teaching experience who intend making a career in the field. Classes thus equip students with marketable skills by encouraging them to specialize in particular areas: CALL, language assessment, ESP, literature, and literacy, all with a focus on the use of instructional technology. Our PhD program in Applied Linguistics & Technology is a unique combination of classes aimed at those interested in applying technology to the description, teaching, and assessment of language and language learning. The K-12 ESL Endorsement upgrades qualified Iowa schoolteachers to teach ESL in the Iowa public school system. The Graduate Certificate in TESL/TEFL is aimed at those with little or no teaching experience wanting to prepare to teach ESL in the private or voluntary sectors or while travelling abroad.
