We, as a flight school, will never comment on tragedies such as this that happen. You may hear conversation about these things around the school, because this affects us all, but we always wait for the reports.

It’s disrespectful to speculate, to point fingers, or pass judgment on those involved. As a school and as individuals, we show respect for those who lost their lives and sustained injury, the first responders, and their families and loved ones.

Please remember those involved in your thoughts, prayers, and meditations. We are here for our students, and if you have questions or need to talk, and we can connect you to non-reportable sources.

ON CLOUD 9 because Tyler Riley just crushed it with his IFR checkride, making him one of the newest IFR rated pilots in Iowa skies!! Tyler, we have absolutely loved getting to know you and going on adventures in the sky with you! Keep working hard in your training! We’re stoked for you!

WAIT, NO AIRPLANE?? Nope! Say hello to our brand manager, Emma, who just received her medical yesterday after a ‼️SIX YEAR‼️ battle with the FAA.

In this time, Emma has become aware of the issues facing mental health in aviation, became a student at UND, and intends to get her masters in counseling and Ph.D. in clinical psychology and go on to advocate for those facing similar struggles. In addition, she intends to get her CFII/MEI, and serve students directly.

She is excited to get back in the air with her co-pilot-for-life and Chief Flight Instructor, Glenn. She offers deep gratitude to her friends and colleagues in the Iowa aviation community and .aero for their support and keeping her engaged. To borrow a quote from Abby Romeo of Love on the Spectrum, Emma says, “I’m a smart lady. I’m a confident lady. I’m a lady who can fly.”
