Let's talk raw lift vs. glaze:

A raw lift highlight is the hair after lightener has processed, before any toning or glazing is applied. This stage shows how the hair naturally lifted and gives the stylist a foundation to work from.

Sometimes a natural lift can appear pale yellow, which is completely normal and usually means a glaze is needed if that isn’t the client’s desired end result.

A glaze is not a cover-up for mistakes. 🤎

It’s typically a demi-permanent color used to refine the tone and customize the final result based on what the client is looking for. Whether the goal is cooler, warmer, softer, brighter, or more dimensional tones, the glaze helps bring the finished look together while adding shine and enhancing the overall color.

While glazes are a popular upgrade to highlight services, sometimes the raw lift is just too perfect to add anything to it 😌 And if you love the tone, you already have, a clear glaze is always an option to enhance shine and vibrancy without adding extra color.
