If you're facing watering restrictions, know that lawns can be maintained with minimal irrigation. Our horticulture and turfgrass specialists share their direction for homeowners:

βœ… Even when lawn foliage dies back, crowns and roots remain alive.
βœ… Most healthy lawns can survive dormancy for four to six weeks without water.
βœ… Avoid cycling between dormancy and greening with intermittent irrigation.
βœ… Raise mowing height to 3.5–4 inches.
βœ… Hold off on fertilizing dormant lawns.
