🎶 That’s a wrap on Week 1 of AHS Band Camp! 🎶

We had a bit of a soggy end to our first week, but our marching band didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits! 🌧️🖤🧡 We’re excited to keep the momentum going next week and are hoping for some better weather so we can get back outside and keep making music.

🚨 BAND FAMILIES — WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨

Our first uniform fitting slots are TODAY, and we still need volunteers!

We are in desperate need of help getting our marching band students ready for the season. New students need to be measured and fitted for uniforms, and returning students need to try on their uniforms from last year.

🎺 The good news? No special skills are needed! Jeanette — our amazing uniform guru — has streamlined the process and will provide clear instructions. You simply show up, help students through the process, and make a BIG difference!

We currently need:

🔴 Tomorrow— 4 volunteers needed
🟠 Thursday — 4 volunteers needed
🟠 Friday — 2 volunteers needed
🟠 Monday — 7 volunteers needed
🟠 Tuesday — 3 volunteers needed

If you can help, PLEASE sign up! Even one volunteer shift makes a difference and helps us get through fittings efficiently.

We’d love to have you join us for the Ames High Band Boosters General Meeting on Monday, August 10, immediately following the 9th Grade Band meeting.

⏰ We anticipate getting started around 6:45 PM, and we work hard to keep our meetings efficient and productive. You can expect to be on your way home by 7:30 PM!

The amazing caliber of the Ames High Band program would not be possible without the incredible support of our Band Boosters. We are truly grateful for everyone who gives their time, talent, and resources to support our students. 🧡

Don’t miss the Ames High Drumline this Saturday at 11:00 AM in downtown Ames as they perform in the 4th of July Parade! Come out, cheer them on, and celebrate all of the hard work they’ve put in preparing for the season ahead. 🥁🎶🇺🇸

The Ames High Drumline has been hard at work learning the basic fundamentals used in warmups, drum cadences, and music selections for the upcoming fall marching season. Students have also been putting in the effort to learn and memorize the drum cadences they’ll be performing for the parade.

A huge thank you to Ames High Drumline alumni Chris Ewan and Dan Krumm, along with Ames High Band Directors Andrew Buttermore, Levi Dressler, and Conner Tipping, for sharing their time, experience, and leadership with these students.

🎺 Monday – Concert Band at the All-Iowa Concert Band Festival
Held at Johnston High School. The AHS concert band performs at 4:05 PM and the performance is free and open to the public.
