When Iowa State students from differing majors want to work together to create lasting impact, they choose to participate in the Rising Star Internship Program. Iowa State’s Rising Star interns are putting their skills to work in communities across Iowa.
Each summer, multidisciplinary student teams partner with local leaders through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach to tackle real projects like designing public spaces to supporting farmers markets, school greenhouses, and community gardens.
Since 2014, 118 interns have helped create lasting impact in 31 counties while building skills and gaining hands‑on experience that shapes their careers. These Rising Stars are making a difference in Iowa communities. Here’s to the next generation of leaders making a difference through the Rising Star Internship Program.
