A productive day in the high tunnel!
Today, many of our student employees spent some time de-suckering and re-clipping tomato plants to keep them healthy, supported, and growing strong throughout the season. These routine tasks help improve airflow, direct energy toward fruit production, and make harvests easier down the road.
Itβs all part of the behind-the-scenes work that helps keep our crops thriving! π±

π±Meet the Faces Behind the Hort Stationπ±
Next, we have Juan Mendoza, one of our Prairie Resource Interns. He joined the team in May and is spending the summer gaining hands-on experience in prairie management, conservation, and field research.
He is currently majoring in Animal Ecology on the Wildlife path. combining his passion for wildlife with practical experience in natural resource stewardship.
We're excited to have Juan on the team and look forward to sharing more about his work this summer! πΏπ¦
