Letter grades are posted to WebCT. Final exams can be picked up from Patti Boone in 1608 Gilman. I know this has been a challenging class, but I hope you learned a lot. I've certainly loved teaching you all this semester. For those of you who are up for it, I am teaching Chem537: Physical Organic 1, in the fall. It's a grad-level class, but some undergrads do take it. Enjoy the summer and no school :)

Final key is posted to WebCT
Grades for the final exam are posted on WebCT. The final exam average/median was ~80/150. The high was 146. The key will be posted shortly. Final grade cutoffs are still being determined.
Reminder: The final is Tues, 7-9 pm, in 1352 Gilman, NOT in 1002 Gilman. Get a good night sleep on Monday.
Ch 31 Essentials: Formation of polymers (polyurethanes, polycarbonates, nylons, polyesters, polyolefins [e.g. polystyrene], acrylates). Know how to predict monomers given a polymer, and how to predict a polymer given a monomer.
Chapter 26 Essentials: Structures of amino acids (don't need to memorize the structures, but know how to predict the protonation states), know how to draw a peptide, synthesis of amino acids, synthesis of peptides (e.g. protection, DCC coupling, deprotection, etc), Protein structure (primary, secondary, tertiary structure).

Solutions to problems from class
Tomorrow we will do a final review (there will another one on Sun 6-8pm in 1002 Gilman), so there will be no more new material in this class. The comprehensive final exam will be on Tuesday May 3, 7-9 pm in 1002 Gilman.
I am slowly getting better. Prof. Jenks will teach Tuesday's class, but I am looking forward to being back for Thursday's class.
I have extended the amino acids homework for those who need it.
Exam 4 results are posted on WebCT. Max was a 99 and median was a 61. You probably all have a pretty good idea of where you stand at this point, but keep in mind the final is worth 30% of the class grade, so there's still an opportunity for movement before you get your final grade.
Class: My sincere apologies for being out of commission for so long with illness. Info on Exam 4: It will cover amines, sugars, and nucleic acids, but not amino acids/proteins (Ch. 26). On sunday, with the blessing, I will hold a review session 6-8pm in 1002 Gilman. The amino acids homework will be pushed back after the exam until the class following its completion. Tuesday's class will be a last-minute review.
