Congratulations to senior music education major Elias Vargas! Today, he finished the Tyrell 40 Progressive Studies technique book. This occurred in the midst of working up senior recital repertoire. Congratulations Elias! Also, his recital takes place on April 19 at 4:30pm.

Congratulations to senior music education major Will Forbes! Today, he completed the Tyrell 40 Progressive Studies method book. As is tradition, he earned his signature on the Tyrell "Stand of Fame." Congrats Will!

What's better than an Iowa State win in the CyHawk football game (16-13 fyi)? A post-game tailgate grill out with amazing people from the ISU trombone studio.

Spring 2025 grill out was a ton of fun. Followed by a game of football. (We may or may not have piled in the back of this truck for the short ride to a grassy field)

It was a great day to be a Cyclone trombone player! Dr. Carson King-Fournier visited today from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. In addition to working with individual students, he worked with CySlides for the upcoming trombone choir concert. Thank you for a great day Dr. King-Fournier!

Congratulations to sophomore Quinlan Hall! He was named one of the winners in the ISU Concerto Competition. Quinlan will be performing the Grondahl Concerto with the ISU Symphony Orchestra on Mar. 2 at 4:30pm.

It was great having Ilan Morgenstern of the Vancouver Symphony work with the ISU trombone studio! He shared many interesting facets of his career in addition to trombone playing. Thank you, Ilan!

Members of the ISU trombone studio traveled to Elkhorn, Wisconsin to visit the Edwards Instrument Co. proshop. It was exciting for them to test every piece of equipment to find a new trombone that fits them best.
