The College of Veterinary Medicine's Summer Scholar Research Program introduces students like Erica Moscoso to research projects. Moscoso spent the summer assisting with Dr. Matt Brewer's project on a treatment option for Tritrichomonas foetus, a protozoan parasite known to be a pathogen of the bovine reproductive tract.

CVM to Host National Research Conference!! The National Veterinary Summer Scholars Symposium (NVSSS) will be held virtually August 4-6.

The annual conference will be hosted by the College of Veterinary Medicine and showcases research accomplishments by veterinary students completing summer research internships.

Registration is open for the virtual event, which will feature six poster sessions and four "Meet the Experts" breakout sessions.

Keynote speakers are Dr. Jim Roth, Distinguished Professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine, "Infectious Disease Control Through Research, Policy Development and Education;" Dr. Kathryn Jones, Baylor University College of Medicine, "Addressing the Global Burden of Chagas Disease;" and Dr. Liara Gonzalez, North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, "Intestinal Regenerative Medicine: Targeting Key Stem Cells to Enhance Intestinal Viability."
