Challenges and needs of US grape and wine industry:
During the 90-minute webinar on May 20th 2025 at 3PM Central Time, you will hear from Drs. Aude Watrelot (Iowa State University), Patricia Skinkis (Oregon State University), Andreea Botezatu (Texas A&M), and Dan McCole (Michigan State University) who will present the findings of an ongoing funded USDA SCRI research and extension planning project focusing on the challenges and needs of the US grape and wine industry. The 45-min presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

EVEF Enology 3: The Wine Microbiome: Implications for the wine industry

Dr. Molly Kelly, Enology Extension Educator at the Pennsylvania State University, will outline her ongoing research investigating changes in microbial populations, particularly non-Saccharomyces yeasts, during native fermentations. Could this be used to define your microbial terroir? The presentation will be followed by an exciting discussion with two producers of "naturally" fermented wines, exploring their philosophies, best practices, and challenges.
