GSW broke ground on our new $20.3 million natural sciences building and proudly unveiled its name, Jeanette C. Mix Hall, honoring the lasting legacy of Jeanette C. Mix and the Charles L. Mix Memorial Fund at GSW and throughout the Americus community.

The 23,000-square-foot facility will feature modern laboratories, innovative learning spaces and expanded opportunities for hands-on science education. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2027, with the first classes held in spring 2028.

GSW recently celebrated the public launch of the Rising Together, Shaping Futures fundraising campaign, the largest in Hurricane history. The five-year campaign has already raised $12 million toward its original $12.5 million goal, prompting the University to increase the campaign goal to $15 million for completion by the Gold Force Gala in February 2028.
