💌 P³: BEHIND THE SCENES! 🐾

Before more than 70 Positive Panther Post cards could make their way to SCMS students and staff this afternoon, there was a little behind-the-scenes work to do!

SCMS Librarian Kristan Price and Media Center Paraprofessional Danika Tyson tracked down ELT class locations, sorted cards, and made sure each message of encouragement found the right Panther. Then, with a little help from our delivery crew, we made it to almost every classroom! 💙💛 The remaining P³ cards will be delivered Monday, so more smiles are still to come! 😊

Parents and families, help us keep the positivity going! Stop by SCMS and write a P³ note for your student—or encourage a staff member who deserves a little positivity, too. We provide the special card, and we’ll take care of the rest! 💌

💌 P³ Positive Panther Post deliveries are underway!

This afternoon, SCMS ELA & Social Studies Instructional Coach Janiyah Johnson and SCMS Librarian Kristan Price made their way through nearly every classroom during ELT, delivering P³ notes filled with encouragement from our Panther families. We didn’t quite make it to everyone—but we’ll finish spreading the positivity on Monday! 💙💛

Seeing our students’ reactions when they receive a special note makes it all worth it. 😊

🎶🎺 GROWING OUR BAND PROGRAM! 💙💛

SCMS parents recently had the opportunity to meet with a representative from Arts Music Shop to learn more about getting their students equipped and ready to make music! 🎷🥁

A big thank you to SCMS Band Director JuJuan Turner for coordinating the opportunity and to all of the parents who attended and continue to support our young musicians.

🎵 We’re growing the SCMS Band one instrument—and one musician—at a time! 🐾💙💛

📚➕ Professional Learning at SCMS! 💙💛

A big thank you to Angie Brunson, Ed.S., Chattahoochee-Flint RESA Math Specialist, for sharing her expertise on Math Learning Plans with our SCMS math teachers this week!

We were also glad to have Dr. Marnie Dutcher, SCS Director of Professional Learning & Assessment; Ms. Phoenecia Cummings, SCS K-12 Math Content Coordinator; Dr. Sabrina Stephens, SCMS Assistant Principal; and Mrs. Latonya Ivory, SCMS Math & Social Studies Instructional Coach, join us for the training.

We appreciate everyone who continues to invest in our teachers and strengthen math instruction for our Panthers! 🐾📐

💻🔧 TECHIE IN THE MAKING! 🐾💙💛

A huge shoutout to 7th grader Shawn Lindsey, Jr. for putting his tech skills to work and helping get one of our teachers back up and running with a working Chromebook cart!

Shawn removed the chargers from a damaged cart, tested every charging cable, fully stocked the replacement cart with working chargers, and loaded it back up with Chromebooks. He loved every minute of the work—and did an outstanding job! 👏💻

We also want to thank SCMS Engineering & STEM teacher Mrs. Lenora Satharla for recognizing Shawn’s talent and lending us her amazing technician for the project!

This is what hands-on learning looks like—real skills, real problem-solving, and a real need being met right here at SCMS. You can’t beat that! 🛠️🐾
