Don't Miss What's Right in Front of You

I was looking over my to-do list today, thinking about everything that still needs to get done before the Expo. And I caught myself focusing so much on what's not finished that I almost overlooked how much has already come together.

That made me sit with something Jesus said in Luke 11:32: “And, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.”

Those folks were looking for another sign, and Jesus was already standing right in front of them.

I wonder how often I do that myself. So busy looking for what's next that I miss what He's already showing me.

Maybe today we don't need another sign. Maybe we just need to pay attention.

**TODAY’S SHARED RHYTHM**
**The Invitation Is Still Open**
*Sunday, October 11, 2026*

This morning, I was looking at everything I still need to get done before the Expo. And I caught myself already making room for everything that needed my attention, except the One who gives me strength to do it.

Then I sat with Jesus' words in Matthew 22:9: *“Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.”*

What caught me is that God keeps making room for people. Not because we've earned it, but because of His grace.

And yet, an invitation still calls for a response.

Maybe that's my reminder today. Jesus has made room for me. I need to make room for Him.

With the Expo getting closer, I've been walking through the garden noticing everything that still needs my attention. And I had to check myself, because I can spend all day talking about what needs doing, but at some point, I've got to put my hands to it.

And that's what caught me about Jesus' words this morning. When a woman praised His mother, Jesus pointed everybody toward something we can all experience:

*“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”* — Luke 11:28

I'm learning that following Jesus works much the same way. Hearing matters, but so does responding.

**Carry This:** Don't just make room to hear Jesus today. Make room to follow Him.

**Jesus didn't come just to make our lives better. He came to set us free.**

Yesterday, I was out in the garden looking at some of these crops after all that rain, and man, I ain't gonna lie, it's been frustrating. The Expo is right around the corner, and I'm looking at everything that ain't where I want it to be.

But something caught me in Luke 11. Jesus had just set somebody free, and instead of celebrating, folks were questioning Him. Jesus reminded them that God's Kingdom was already right there among them.

Made me wonder how much I'm missing because I'm so focused on what ain't right.

**Where might Jesus already be at work that we haven't stopped long enough to notice?**

I was looking over everything I've got to get done today, and before I knew it, I was already trying to figure out how it was all going to work out.

And I caught myself. Because I can get so busy trying to make things happen that I forget to bring them to God.

That's what stayed with me from Jesus' words in Luke 11:9: *“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”*

He's reminding me that I can keep coming to the Father, even when I don't know how things will turn out.

**I don't have to know how God will answer to keep coming to Him.**

This morning during my quiet time, I heard something simple that really hit me:

**“Be comfortable dancing in the box you’ve been given.”**

Man… that’s good.

We spend so much time looking at somebody else’s box that we forget to appreciate our own.

Your gifts. Your season. Your journey. Your rhythm.

God made you **you** for a reason.

So work with what’s in your hands, be present where your feet are, and dance.

**Stop watching somebody else’s box.
Dance in yours.** 💛
