Providing piano lessons for beginning to advanced students in American Fork, Utah Dr. Carmen Hall is a performer, speaker, teacher, and collaborative artist.
She believes strongly in encouraging pianists through engagement, giving students a reason to practice and perform at the highest level. She created Young Pianists International to give students the opportunity to share cultural experiences and performances with students in other countries. Next year, they will be traveling to Ghana, Africa. This group has traveled to China (1996, 1997), Japan (19
97, 2014), Mexico (1998), Oregon (2002, 2009, 2016), and Washington, D.C. (2018). With a grant from American Fork City, Dr. Hall founded the Timpanogos Chamber Music Series. Works included in the 2021-2022 season demonstrate a range of collaborative works with piano. Performers with Dr. Hall will include string players, a piano quartet (2 pianos, 8 hands), a baritone, a jazz dancer, and a piano trio with oboe and bassoon. Her doctoral solo recitals included sonatas by Beethoven, Chopin, and Prokofiev as well as Carnaval by Schumann. In the SummerArts Competition at the University of Utah, she won first place in the Teaching Video Competition and the Collaborative Competition. As a winner of the Concerto Competition, she performed with the Salt Lake City Symphony. Hall previously performed as a soloist with the Timpanogos Symphony, Brigham Young University Philharmonic, and the Emerald Chamber Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, Hall presented her first chamber recital at the University of Utah included Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio, No. 1 and Ravel’s Piano Trio in A Minor. She formerly played with the Gaia Piano Quartet that performed throughout Utah. Her students also play in ensemble groups with piano quartets being the favorite. Dr. Hall is on the faculty and a board member of The Mountain Springs Chamber Music Festival. Hall has earned permanent certified membership status in Music Teachers’ National Association and also serves as the Theory and Ear Training Evaluation Chair of the Encore Music Teachers Organization in Utah Valley. Her award-winning students have become piano majors, receiving full music tuition scholarships at various universities. Hall recently completed a doctoral degree at the University of Utah where she studied with Dr. Vedrana Subotic. She holds a Bachelor’s and Masters Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Brigham Young University where she worked with Paul Pollei, founder of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. Hall and her husband have three adult boys who play the piano, guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, organ, nose flute, soccer, and basketball. She has completed five marathons including the Boston Marathon.

Saturday evening - join us at the American Fork Library to celebrate Bach's birthday with a performance of the iconic Goldberg Variationsc arranged for two pianos. Dr. Yuhuan Xu and Dr. Carmen Hall will perform at 7 pm following student performances that start at 6 pm.

Timpanogos Chamber Music presents "consonari" in concerts this upcoming weekend. The American Fork concert is performed by Anna Larson, Joel Rodeback, and Kaden Larson who have degrees from Juilliard, Indiana University, and BYU.
