What are SOVT exercises?🤔

Exercises like Bubbles in a Bottle, lip buzzes, singing straws, buzzing like a bee, humming and so many more, are examples of Semi-Occluded Vocal Tract (SOVT) exercises. The purpose of these exercises is to improve vocal efficiency by creating back pressure that reduces strain on the vocal cords. Wanna learn more? Come take voice lessons at Batschi Vocals:)

What is a voice scope?🤔

Sometimes as voice users or voice teachers, we run into struggles that basic vocal health techniques can’t solve. At that point, a student will go see an ENT or Vocologist. This specialist may decide to do a Laryngoscopy or Vocal Scope where they run a camera down your throat or down your nose to see your vocal folds function. That is what you see here in this video! FASCINATING RIGHT? Come back to part 3 to see what healthy vocal fold vibration can look like👀

What is a Vocologist?🤔

A vocologist is a voice professional with training and certifications in Speech Language Pathology. This means they specialize in voice anatomy and function. Quite often they use a laryngeal scope to view the vocal folds in order to identify health issues. For Mikayla, this has been LIFE changing! See how she has grown and changed by following our mini series! Part 2 coming soon🥳
