American Legacy Montessori School

After 23 years of teaching I finally decided to close the school to pursue my Real Estate Business full time. What a blessing these young children have been in my life all these years. The first ones are grown up and have children of their own!

Our fun, annual tradition of launching red, white and blue balloons to celebrate the beginning of a new school year!

I would like to invite you and your children to an Open House for American Legacy Montessori School on Saturday, August 30 from 11:00-12:00 noon
The first day of school will be Tuesday, September 2. Class time: 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. The tuition will be $175 per month. There will be a $10 deduction per month if the school year is prepaid with 9 or 10 checks either at the Open House or on the first day of school. Please make the checks out to: Rebecca Brand. Having the predated checks really helps with my accounting. Thank you! I will deposit one check at the beginning of each month. The school year runs from September through May. Kindermusik is an integrated part of our school program and will be offered every Wednesday throughout the school year. The tenth month is Summer Kindermusik Camp in June.
Please make sure that all sweaters, shoes and coats are clearly marked with your child’s name. Also,
please purchase easy, slip on shoes or shoes with velcro for your child to wear that they can do for themselves. Please no lace up shoes or tight fitting shoes that your child cannot manage alone. Thank you! It is great for their independence and also saves us time when we go out for snack and play and at the end of class each day. Thank you!
Also, please purchase a canvas tote bag (approximately 12”x 12”) with your child’s name clearly printed on the front for the newsletters, math and penmanship papers, art work and reading books which we will be sending home. Back packs are too bulky and hard to identify owners. Thank you! If any of this creates a hardship for you please let me know. Thanks again!
We celebrate the Star of the Week child on Tuesdays, if convenient for the parents.
As noted earlier, we teach Kindermusik every Wednesday and we have Show & Tell every Thursday, except on Field trip days we will have it on Wednesday. Please, if possible, have children bring things that relate to the cultural areas we are studying each month. Our back to school celebration and Balloon Launch will be on Thursday, September 4th. All are invited to arrive at the school at 11:30. We will launch red, white and blue balloons celebrating the beginning of our school year! Bring your cameras! We will launch the balloons right at 11:45 pm.
Please send a Preparedness bag for your child in a large zip-lock bag labeled with your child’s name and filled with a pair of socks, underwear or diaper & wipes, pants and a shirt. Don’t forget to include a treat! :)
If there is someone else whose email address you would like for me to add to my weekly email list, please let me know. Thank you.
We will have individual and class pictures taken during the first week or two of school. More information to follow. Siblings are welcome to have individual shots also.
Please remember to loop around in the drive way for pick up and drop off to make room for others. If you would like to come in, please pull all the way around and park. Thank you!

We start Kindermusik summer camp tomorrow! Tuesday, June 4th!!

Summer Kindermusik Camp Schedule 2013 Year One
Dates: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays starting June 4 to June 27, 2013 (4 weeks)
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00
On the last day of Kindermusik on Thursday, June 27th we will have a potluck picnic and double water slide party on our back patio and yard.
Each child will receive a paper travel bag which they should bring to class every day during summer camp. They will receive different travel stickers to color and attach to the bag each day. We will have outdoor water games as the weather permits, snacks, crafts, musical instruments, dancing and games. Please send your children in play clothes- that can get wet or dirty each day. Thank you! Schedule subject to minor changes.
