Hello, Hillcrest Families!
We are excited to welcome you all back to our school for the 2026-2027 school year. We hope everyone has had a great summer! I know our teachers and staff members have been working hard to get ready for this upcoming school year.

Please remember that Hillcrest has their open house on Monday, August 24. Our classrooms will be open from 8:00 to 11:30 and again from 12:30 to 3:00. We ask that you plan your visits during this time, as the 11:30 to 12:30 time is reserved for our staff members to get their lunch, process paperwork from the morning, and get ready for the afternoon.

There will be people available in the cafeteria to help with completing the required forms for the upcoming school year, if you haven't had a chance to login to PowerSchool to complete them yet. This open house gives us an opportunity to verify all the important information that we need before the first day. It takes a lot to get our little people home safe on that first day and we want to make sure we have the information we need to make that happen.

Our first day of school will be on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Supervision in the playground areas and drop-off zones begins at 7:45 a.m.

Hillcrest families, keep an eye on your mailbox! Letters have been mailed letting students know who their teacher will be for the upcoming school year. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and catch the wave of kindness and learning together! 🌊🦫❤️

Good morning!

I am pleased to announce that we have received the test results and we have passed. The boil water order has now been officially lifted!

Your tap water is safe to use as normal for drinking, cooking, brushing your teeth, making ice, and all other household uses.

I sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this process.

🚨 WATER BOIL NOTICE 🚨
City of American Falls

Attention All Water Customers:

Effective immediately, all City of American Falls water customers are advised to boil all tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, preparing food, making ice, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, or giving it to pets.

This notice has been issued as a precaution after a loss of communication with the City’s water system caused a citywide loss of water pressure, with system pressures falling below the minimum safe operating level. A loss of water pressure can increase the risk of contaminants entering the water distribution system.

Until this notice is lifted, bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute before use. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.

City crews are on site and are actively working to restore and stabilize the water system. Water pressure is recovering, the distribution system is being flushed, and water quality testing is underway. This Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe for consumption.

We understand the inconvenience this causes and sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possible. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available and when the Boil Water Notice has been lifted.
