In case you havent heard:

𝐂𝐂𝐖 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞
Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed Assembly Bill 1948 (AB 1948), which changes the duration of standard California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) licenses.

Effective January 1, 2027:
• New and renewal California CCW licenses may be issued for up to three years, instead of the current two-year term.

What this means for current CCW holders:
• If your CCW is issued before January 1, 2027, it will remain valid until the expiration date printed on your license.
• Existing licenses will not automatically be extended to three years.
• New and renewal licenses issued on or after January 1, 2027 may be eligible for the new three-year term, provided all statutory requirements are met.

Understandably, everyone wants to know whether or not the law is still in effect right now, or whether the injunction from the trial court goes back into effect immediately so they can buy ammo now. We are working to try and get a definitive answer to that, but it appears that the law will remain in effect until the case gets back to the trial court, or we get a ruling form the court of appeals that the stay of the trial court's injunction is lifted. It is almost certain that the state will ask the Ninth Circuit to keep the stay on Judge Benitez' injunction in place so the law stays in place while they ask for en banc review from the Ninth Circuit. Please stand by while we try to nail this down. We are working hard to try and get the law knocked out immediately.
