Without contents and endnotes, the text is about 50 pages, single spaced ... a 3-4 hour read straight through. It's got five sections where you can take a break: a thorough documentary history, a comprehensive summary of Catholic Social Teaching, an incisive and insightful analysis of AI, a call to safeguard humanity (in truth, work, and freedom), and a clear warning about the culture of power. Even the conclusion thoughtfully examines Mary's song of praise. Don't use AI to summarize it for you ... it's well worth the time to read and reflect on this new reality and our shared responsibility toward it. Bravo, Papa Leone! From our 2026 Cardinal Foley Award winner ...
Last night, I was honored to receive the John Cardinal Foley Award for Excellence in Communications from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. This one is especially close to my heart. The seminary is where I received my certificate in religious studies, so being recognized by this institution, in this way, is a full circle moment.
After 40 years in this industry, I do not take this recognition lightly. All I've ever wanted to do is serve others and help people make good choices in their lives. To be honored for that work, in this new season of life, means everything.
A heartfelt thank you to Rev. Thomas F. Dailey, O.S.F.S. for making the evening so special, and to Fr. Redcay for his beautiful words introducing the award. I am deeply grateful.
More to come ✝️
