Yesterday was a bittersweet day at Firefly Academy as we said goodbye to our sweet Mrs. Chelsea. 💛

We are so thankful for the love, patience, and hard work she has poured into our little Fireflies over the past few years. She has been such a special part of our Firefly family, and she will be greatly missed!

Thank you, Mrs. Chelsea, for everything you’ve given to Firefly Academy. We love you and wish you nothing but the very best in your next chapter! ✨

Firefly Academy is looking for a loving, dependable, and energetic teacher to join our Toddler Classroom team as soon as possible! 💛

Our program meets Tuesdays & Thursdays only, making this a great part-time position for someone who loves little ones but doesn’t want a full-time schedule.

✨ POSITION DETAILS
• Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Approximately 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
• Work alongside other teachers in our toddler classroom
• Faith-based preschool environment
• Position available immediately

✨ WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO
• Genuinely loves working with toddlers
• Is patient, nurturing and dependable
• Is comfortable changing diapers and assisting with all aspects of toddler care
• Works well as part of a team
• Is flexible and willing to jump in wherever needed
• Will provide a safe, positive and loving environment for our littlest Fireflies
• Must be able to pass a background check

Experience working with young children is preferred, but finding the right person with the right heart is most important to us!

✨ A favorite Firefly tradition before the school year begins! ✨

After a few VERY busy weeks of prepping classrooms, organizing supplies, decorating, planning, and getting every little detail ready, our staff got to sit down together tonight and celebrate!

One of our favorite traditions is sharing a meal together before the first day of school. It gives us a chance to enjoy each other’s company, laugh a little, and celebrate all the hard work that happens behind the scenes before our doors ever open.

We missed the few that couldn’t join us tonight!

Our preschool parents absolutely BLESSED OUR SOCKS OFF last night with snacks and drinks for our breakroom!

You all are AMAZING!!!! Ms. Amyiah (who always restocks and organizes our snack ladder) is so excited to tackle organizing all of this!

What a way to kick off a new school year! ✨🩵

Open House was AMAZING tonight, and seeing our halls full of families, little ones, laughter, and excitement made us even more ready for the year ahead!

And can we talk about THIS CREW?! 🥹

This is officially the largest staff Firefly Academy has ever had, and that’s because our little program just keeps GROWING! With that growth has come an incredible group of women who love these kiddos and pour so much into making Firefly such a special place.

Every teacher, assistant, floater, and staff member in this picture brings something different and special to our school, and together they make one pretty incredible team. 💜

MelMel here! Let me introduce you to….

💖 Mrs. Nicole 💖

She is the amazing Director of Firefly Academy and the glue that holds our entire program together! She has been in Early Childhood Education for 16 years and the greatest director of Firefly Academy for 7 years! She is the best and we would all be lost without her!

Her love for children is unmatched! You can find her any Tuesday or Thursday morning with her entourage of little girls following her everywhere! They love their “Mrs. Cole” so much! 🥰 She is an onsite beautician, and she is always fixing a little girls hair after waking up from a nap!

She loves anything and everything hobby-related - jewelry making, crafting, shirts, painting….you name it, she can do it! She makes all our preschool shirts every year! She is a Canva Queen, and makes our school the most beautiful! Just look 👀 down the hallways and inside each classroom, she has helped design it all! 😮

She is a 🎶 music lover who enjoys every genre and is MelMel’s favorite Singo buddy on Tuesday and Friday nights!

You won’t catch her with a hot drink in her hand - cold drinks only!

To all the littles, she is lovingly known as “Mrs. Cole,” and to us, she is simply the very best boss! We love our Mrs. Cole to the moon and stars! ✨

✨ MEET MELANIE! ✨
School Secretary • Chapel Leader • My Right-Hand Gal 💛

Every director needs a Melanie. Unfortunately for everyone else, this one is mine. 😂💛 She started 6 years ago as a substitute teacher and I’m so thankful she took a chance and joined us permanently!

Melanie Polivoda, aka MelMel is our School Secretary, but that title barely scratches the surface of everything she does at Firefly Academy. She is my right-hand gal, sounding board, voice of reason, problem solver, and one of the people I trust most. She hears all of my ideas - the good ones, the crazy ones, and plenty that start with “Okay, hear me out…what if……” 😂

She keeps me organized, talks me through things, reminds me of the things I’ve forgotten, and somehow always knows exactly what needs to be done. I truly could not do this without her. 💖💖💖

🎶 Melanie LOVES to sing and leads our kiddos in Chapel every morning. Hearing our little Fireflies sing and worship together is one of the sweetest parts of our school day, and she has such a heart for it.

🥤 Of course, none of this happens until Melanie has secured her 44 oz. Coke from Pak-a-Sak. Every. Single. Morning. 😂 She’s such a regular that the cashier sees her car pull in and starts getting her Coke ready before she even pulls up to the window. If that isn’t VIP status, I don’t know what is!

💙 And she is a BOY MOM x3! With three boys at home, she definitely enjoys coming to work and getting a little much-needed girl time with all of us!

She orders the SAME.ORDER.AT.EVERY.RESTAURANT - I can recite her order word for word anywhere we go!

Melanie keeps Firefly Academy running, keeps our kiddos singing, keeps me sane, and makes our days a whole lot more fun. 💛

I’m beyond thankful she’s beside me through all of it. 🥰
