🎓 Rising Seniors: You Don’t Have to Wait Until August 1

While Common App applications don’t officially open for the Class of 2027 until August 1, there is plenty students can do now to get ahead.

✅ Create application accounts
✅ Complete profile, family, education, and testing information
✅ Build your activities list
✅ Update your resume
✅ Create your honors and awards list
✅ Draft your college essay ✅ Research colleges and build your application list

💡 Completing each section now can make application season feel much more manageable later.

🏆 What Belongs in the Common App Honors Section?

The Common App allows students to list up to five honors or awards, making this a valuable opportunity to highlight achievements beyond grades and test scores.

Examples include:
⭐ Competition Awards
⭐ Student of the Month
⭐ National Merit Recognition
⭐ Athletic Awards
⭐ AP Scholar Awards
⭐ Department Awards
⭐ Honor Societies
⭐ Local, State, or National Awards

⚠️ Don’t list Honors classes. This section is for awards and recognition.

💡 Tip: Include the award name, what it recognizes, the level of recognition, and when you received it. Many students only list the title and miss the chance to explain its significance.

Lead with your strongest achievements and use every character wisely.

One step closer! 🎓✨
Today was the Senior Walk at Amtech, and seeing these seniors walk those halls was such a core memory moment. It’s the perfect reminder of how hard they’ve worked to get here. Just one more stepping stone until they officially walk across that stage!
We are so incredibly proud of the Class of 2026! 🥂❤️
