Firm Foundation camp day 1. Foundation challenges. David & Goliath. Stepping stones to remind us of what we learned today. Remember - a house is only as strong as the foundation it is built on. What is your foundation made of?
Found a cactus in the field. Played games and a few rounds of tug-of-war. Learned about Coach Harper’s mission trip to Zambia. Put our leadership qualities to the test. Learned about grit in the cold plunge! Wrap up the day with popsicles and called it a great Leadership Lab camp week!

We’ve been SO BUSY the last couple of days, but here are some favorite moments. A visiting lizard. So much laughter. New flashlight books. Lollipop moments.
Today’s lollipop moments come from a Ted Talk titled “Everyday leadership” by Drew Dudley. We discussed how small, easy acts can have major, life-altering impacts on others. To put it into action, we made kind notes of encouragement and gratitude for the people in our lives who have made a positive impact.

Yesterday was all about self-discipline. We talked about so many different things and did different challenges but the conversation that stood out the most was all about a glue stick.
When asked, “What kind of person do you want to be,” one of them randomly shouted out, “glue stick!”
He was being silly but from my perspective, the term fit him the best out of everyone on campus.
We discussed his ability to bring people together. During our last camp, one of the littles was crushed that the girls wouldn’t play Star Wars with him. My glue stick boy gathered the big boys and minutes later, they were all running around with fake light sabers. He isn’t the first to step into the spotlight. He’s always the first to bring joy and friendship. He sticks people together and holds them there with his laughter and contagious smile.
Be a glue stick.
