Key Benefits of Circle Time:
(Circle Time is not the same as free playtime and group playtime)
* Social and Emotional Growth: Children learn how to take turns, listen to peers, share ideas, and practice empathy. Sitting together also creates a welcoming, inclusive environment that eases anxiety.
* Routine and Structure: A consistent daily schedule helps young children feel safe and secure. Knowing what comes next makes transitions between activities smoother.
* Cognitive and Language Skills: Group stories, counting games, songs, weather discussions introduce early academic concepts while expanding vocabulary and communication.
* Self-Regulation and Focus: Children practice paying attention to a teacher, following group rules, and managing their behavior in a shared space.
Tips for Circle Time Success
* Keep It Short: Aim for 5 to 10 minutes for toddlers, and 10 to 15 minutes for preschoolers.
At Luisa’s Child Care, “Circle Time” is held twice daily, following the morning and afternoon snacks, when children are usually well rested.
Note: Photo was taken when I had three unrelated children, and two related children (my grandson & niece).
Since March 2020, Luisa’s Child Care maximum capacity has been three children with no exceptions.
