Today, we’re proud to host “Rolling Stoned: Investigating and Prosecuting the Drugged Driver” at the First Responders Academy.

This important training is offered by the Texas District and County Attorneys Association (TDCAA) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), with support from the Potter County Sheriff Office and Potter County Law Enforcement Association. Approximately 60 area law enforcement officers, county attorneys, and district attorneys are in attendance to address the challenges of drug-impaired driving and learn more about effectively investigating and prosecuting these cases.

We’re proud to provide a space where law enforcement and prosecutors can come together to strengthen their knowledge, share expertise, and better serve our communities.

On September 3–4, 2026, we welcomed nearly 200 regional law enforcement partners for training. More than 45 local, state, and federal criminal and juvenile justice agencies were represented from across the Panhandle.

This training event was hosted through the collaborative efforts of the Amarillo Police Department, Texoma HIDTA, the Lubbock and North Texas Anti-Gang Centers, and the Texas Gang Investigators Association, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening interagency collaboration and public safety across the region.

Amarillo Little Theatre is proud to invite local first responders and their families to a special complimentary performance of Come From Away on Thursday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m.

At the heart of Come From Away is the remarkable true story of first responders, volunteers and everyday people who stepped forward in a moment of crisis to care for thousands of strangers.

In that same spirit, we want to celebrate the first responders who serve our own community every day. ❤️

Local first responders and their families are invited to join us for:

🎭 Come From Away at 7:30 p.m.  
🎶 A pre-show reception from 6:30–7:30 p.m. featuring live music from The Amarillo Jazz Society

Congratulations to the recruits of the 133rd Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy!

This morning, every one of our recruits successfully passed the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Licensing Exam on their first attempt!

This accomplishment is a testament to the recruits’ hard work, dedication, discipline, and commitment throughout the academy. They put in the hours, faced the challenges, supported one another, and never lost sight of the goal.

The First Responders Academy will be closed until 1:00pm today.

All campuses will be closed TOMORROW AUGUST 20TH FROM 8AM TO 1PM for our Fall Convocation. This event gathers all AC employees and faculty so we can get together to celebrate your successes, receive updates, and plan ways in which we can improve your student experience.
