River Road Wildcat Band

OPS Area West results are in, and we are proud to say that the River Road Middle School Concert Band had 2 of their 3 recordings advance to the state level.

Congratulations to the RRMS Concert Band for their incredible dedication and outstanding work this year! Congratulations are also in order for the High School Concert Band, having entered this contest for the first time and getting 2 recordings to the Area round.

We are excited to announce Ms. Zoe Stovall as River Road’s new Assistant Band Director!

From Ms. Stovall:

“Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Stovall, and I am a recent graduate of West Texas A&M University where I earned my degree in Music Education. Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, I am excited for the opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape me. I completed my student teaching within the Randall High Cluster and also had the opportunity to work as a private lesson instructor for numerous students throughout Amarillo and Canyon.

During my time at WTAMU, I was President of the Xi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma and performed in a variety of major and small ensembles throughout college. During the summer, I work in the WTAMU Music Office as an Administrative Assistant for the annual band and orchestra camp.

Outside of school and music, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to podcasts, and going on walks.

I would like to offer my deepest gratitude to Mrs. Freeman, Mr. Scott and Mr. Olson for inviting me to join this program. I cannot wait to meet everyone this fall and become part of the Wildcat family. Go Wildcats!”

The River Road Band program had an incredible showing at the Region-level competition of the Outstanding Performance Series.

All 3 of the MS Concert Band’s recordings have advanced to the Area round, and 2 of the HS Concert Band’s recordings advanced.

Area adjudication to advance to State will take place by June 20th. CONGRATS TO OUR OUTSTANDING MUSICIANS! 🎉

We will have a bus going to and from WT every day of band camp for those going as commuter campers.

Registration deadline is tomorrow for WT Band Camp!!

If you’re about to be a freshman or junior in the high school marching band, you will need a UIL physical before the start of summer band.
This is a convenient option to get it done while at school.

Parents/Guardians of River Road Student Athletes & Marching Band Members,

For the upcoming 2026-2027 school Year, we will be hosting a time to complete pre-participation physicals for incoming 7th, 9th, 11th participating in athletics, cheerleading members, and marching band members. Please have signed returned packet completed prior to physical date:

8:00am - Completion
$20

All athletes will be required to do paperwork, but only 7th, 9th, and 11th will need a NEW physical.
