The Bomb City Bots hosted a middle school robotics competition at AmTech on Saturday where over 30 middle school teams from around the area competed in their Robotics Coliseum.

The Bomb City Bots finished 6th out of 36 teams at the Regional FTC competition in Lubbock which qualified them for the regional semi-finals that followed regular play where they were eliminated by the eventual regional champs. In the end the Bots won the most “Innovative Award” and were 3rd place in the “Inspiring Award”. Junior Lauren Miller was selected as a Dean’s List finalist and will travel to the FTC World competition in April where she will compete to become one of 10 Dean’s List award winners. The Dean’s List award is given to those who show strong leadership and commitment to their team and First Robotics. Way to go Lauren and way to go Bomb City Bots.

The Bomb City Bots welcomed teams from all over the Texas Panhandle to their new Robotics/Drone Coliseum located at Amarillo ISD's AmTech Career Academy. This was the first of many competitions to hosted here.
