Hi, I’m Amanda 🤍

There are a few new faces here, so I thought it was time to say hello again and share a little about me, the heart behind Breastfriends, and why I love this work so much. 🤍

I’m an RN, RNC-MNN, IBCLC, mom, wife, and the owner of Breastfriends.

I’ve been a nurse for 14 years, but my journey with mothers and babies started long before that through my own experiences with motherhood.

Three years ago, I opened Breastfriends because I knew I wanted to care for moms and babies differently.

And honestly, the more I do this work, the bigger that passion becomes.

I want moms to feel heard instead of blamed.

I want us to look at a struggling baby and ask “why?” instead of assuming it’s normal or that they’re just difficult.

I want feeding care to look at the whole picture — mom, baby, oral function, body tension, milk transfer, growth, regulation and everything that can affect how feeding feels and functions.

And I want families to have a village of providers willing to work together, refer to one another and put the mother and baby ahead of pride or ego — myself included.

I have some pretty big dreams for where this work could eventually take me. Teaching. Speaking. Continuing my education. Helping change how we approach infant feeding and mother-baby care.

But I’m also learning not to get too far ahead of God. 🤍

Right now, I get to wake up and do something I genuinely love — care for mothers and babies, keep learning, ask better questions and hopefully leave families feeling a little more supported than when they walked through my door.

That’s Breastfriends.

And if you’re new here, I’m so glad you’re here. 🤍

Three years • Forty-three years • Countless blessings. 🤍

Today is a little extra special.

✨ Breastfriends turns 3🫶🏼
🥳 I turn 43.
🤱 And it’s World Breastfeeding Week.

Three years ago, I stepped out in faith with one simple goal: to better serve mothers and babies in our community.

I had no idea where God would take it.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside hundreds of families, celebrating first latches, troubleshooting hard days, cheering on victories, speaking to healthcare professionals, and advocating for better care for the mother-baby dyad.

This business has grown far beyond anything I could have planned, and every family who has trusted me with their journey has been part of that story.

To my patients, referral partners, colleagues, friends, and family—thank you. Thank you for believing in Breastfriends, for sharing my name, for encouraging me, and for allowing me to do work that truly fills my heart.

As I celebrate another birthday, I can honestly say I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

Here’s to another year of learning, serving, advocating, and being a light for mothers and babies. 🤍

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10

What a gift it is to make an abundance of breast milk. 🤍

For so many families, donor milk can be life-changing—and I’m so thankful for the moms who choose to give that gift so freely.

Feeding babies should never feel out of reach. Supporting one another, sharing when we can, and creating a village around mothers and babies is what this work is all about.

And feeding support should never take advantage of a mother’s vulnerability.

Grateful for the women who give from a place of love. 🤍

More access. More support. More moms getting the care they deserve. 🤍

I’m so excited to now be able to serve families whose plans include **lactation benefits through BC/BS ANTHEM programs like Wildflower Health.

What does that mean for you?

✨ Lactation visits may now be covered
✨ Support that actually looks at oral function, not just latch
✨ Guidance whether you’re breastfeeding, pumping, or bottle feeding

No matter how you feed your baby—your goals matter, and you deserve support that gets to the root of what’s going on.

📲 If you have BC/BS Anthem link 🔗 in BIO check your benefits.

And as always—self-pay visits are available for all families.

Happy Milk. Happy Life. 🕊️
